In a heartwarming video from @wearehappydoggo on Instagram, a rescue explains that people once called Buster, the titular rescue dog, “vicious” and left him “on a chain.” But he turned out to be the sweetest boy. The on-screen text lays it with, “They called him ‘vicious’ and left him on a chain,” adding, “He spent his life tied up, feared by everyone. But we saw something different.” And, he finally got a new chance at life.
Video shows ‘vicious’ rescue dog once tied up greeting with kisses and love
The video shows the rescue dog as the exact opposite of dangerous. Buster comes across as a giant dog with a soft heart who wants contact more than anything, pressing in close and soaking up affection, scenes that make it hard to believe anyone ever feared him.
The rescue’s caption provides more context. It stated that the foster parents came to hear of the alleged “vicious” nature of Buster. They added, “He spent his life on a chain because of a label he didn’t deserve,” and when he arrived, they saw “the truth immediately,” reading, “There wasn’t a mean bone in his body—just a dog who had never been given a chance to be one.”
The turning point, they say, came when “he met Kitty.” And “Now he’s living a life he always deserved,” with the caption saying that he has lived with Kitty ever since, “trading that chain for car rides, beach days, and ice cream.”
If Buster looks different now, it is because dogs tend to learn from life. A chained dog often lives in a constant state of stress, with little movement and not much positive contact, but if you give that same dog safety and a person who loves them, you often see their real, sweet personality.
In the end, the video’s caption declares that “There’s nothing to fear from this gentle giant” rescue dog. And from what Buster shows on camera, the only thing he attacks these days is his treats and a shark toy, living the life he deserves.
