Having a rescue dog who likes to pick fights with iguanas or escape means you never really get a day off from constant surveillance. Michael Brown recently looked out his window only to find Cactus head-first in a random bucket in the yard. This desert survivor from California is a naturally curious being, and puts on his hunter hat when it comes to investigating plastic containers. His body stays on full alert while he tries to solve a backyard mystery. Moreover, it was the unusual quiet that let Michael know something was up.

When the video opens, we see that Michael has spotted Cactus being unnecessarily inquisitive, and so he heads outside. He immediately asks Cactus what he is doing, but the pup is so deep in the container that he cannot see his dad. His body language says he is definitely hunting something. Michael tells him to get his head out of the bucket right now.

Cactus ignores him for a second to finish his investigation, and then looks like he is about to catch a legendary predator. This rescue dog has a very stubborn streak that comes from his days surviving on his own. However, he finally pulls back when dad comes near him. It turns out the big catch is just a couple of snails.

Michael picks up a snail shell to show Cactus the evidence. The pup runs away at first, but then comes back to sniff. “I realized there were a couple snails in there,” Michael shared in the caption. This rescue dog clearly thought he found a lizard or something dangerous in that bucket. One fan joked that the snail was not paying rent and needed an eviction.

Cactus sits on the patio later without any remorse for his hunter behavior. Dad tells him that putting his head in a bucket is no longer allowed for this rescue dog. One comment summed it up perfectly: “That face says ‘and I’ll do it again.’”

The last shot is of Miso the cat watching the whole lecture from the window, judging his brother’s life choices hard. Everyone is obsessed with how proud the dog looks of his hunt. Over 11,000 people have already liked the clip, as of the time of writing.
