In a video from Instagram user @itsyaboy_moku, a dog named Moku Boy takes care of his tiny human siblings in the most adorable manner. The German Shepherd in the video sits outside with two toddlers and keeps himself posted right in front of them, like a big brother on watch. The on-screen text states, “My husband and I got a German shepherd, but our daughters got a built-in, over-protective brother.” Meanwhile, the caption states, “His eyes are always on them.”

German Shepherd takes his duty as a protector very seriously in adorable video

The video shows the dog’s tiny human siblings playing in a sandy patch near a fenced yard as Moku Boy plants himself nearby, facing the toddlers instead of wandering off. He stays close enough to step in without interfering. Moreover, Moku settles down behind them, still angled their way, like he refuses to leave their side.

People in the comments fell in love with his serious face and steady presence. One viewer wrote, “Bodyguard for his life,” while another called him “The helicopter brother,” and a third viewer praised how he seemed relaxed but “at all times on alert for the safety of his wards.” Several users expressed how they believed that the dog would protect those kids with everything he has.

Moku Boy acts this way because German Shepherds are bred to work closely with people, watch their surroundings, remain alert, and respond fast. A lot of GSDs form strong bonds with kids as well. If you consider the fact that toddlers move unpredictably, a protective dog like Moku may feel the need to track every step.

Of course, it is also just normal German Shepherd behavior. The breed is famous for being loyal and always paying attention, even when they look calm. Here, the video captures a family who got a dog, but the tiny humans got a guard and a best friend rolled into one.
