This hilarious Instagram video from @justopiethings features a dog named Opie, who is his mom’s baby, and nobody can be mean to him. Honestly, if the Pit Bull mix did something wrong, he does not look like a dog who understands why he is in trouble. Instead, he looks like a dog who knows something is wrong and hopes his mom steps in to fix it. At the end of the day, he is under protection.

Video proves this ‘naughty’ dog has mom defending him against ‘mean’ dad

In the video, the dog’s mom is scolding his dad for being “mean” to her baby. And so, Opie sits still on the couch with droopy ears and curious eyes, like he has decided movement might make everything worse. His entire expression says, “Uh oh,” and it is probably because his mom won’t stop scolding his dad.

The on-screen caption spells out the context and the joke, “When dad shouts at me for being naughty but I’m mom’s baby so mom starts yelling at him for being mean.” The dog stays seated while the adults handle the argument around him, and the whole thing feels like a familiar scene for pet owners. While one person tries to lay down the law, the other cannot stand seeing the pup get scolded, and as the caption says, “No one yells at opie.”

The comment section basically formed an Opie fan club on the spot. One viewer wrote, “No yelling at Opie! He’s perfect,” while another added, “No one believes that Opie has an ounce of naughty in him.” A third one could not get over his expression, writing, “He, is, the, cutest!!! He looks like he doesn’t know where to look and has a frownie face on. Hang tight Opie!” And one commenter quipped, “That’s right! Get ‘em mom.”

The dog may have been “naughty” in the video, but his mom and the court of public opinion believe he is their baby and definitely innocent.
