This back-and-forth between a tired pup and a mom who knows exactly what he was up to all day is too funny to miss. A Golden Retriever named Harold, aka Harry, is sitting in the passenger seat after a long stint at daycare. Meanwhile, the pet parent is busy spilling all the tea on his behavior while she gives him chest scritches.

Apparently, he spent five hours straight pestering the same few dogs just to get them to play. He is just sitting there with his eyes squeezed shut, looking like he’s hoping the lecture ends soon.

Golden Retriever fights sleep while owner talks

The video shows Harry looking absolutely drained while his mom asks if he’s exhausted from begging for attention. This breed is basically built for needing constant approval, and he is definitely leaning into that today. He won’t even open his eyes while she talks to him. One viewer joked that it is his way of denying all the accusations. He looks so innocent, but Mom knows the truth about his daycare antics.

Mom looks at him and tells him to just rest his bones and stops the scritches. That’s when he finally moves. He just lifts his paw and gently taps her arm. Like, hey… continue. Then he leans against the seat cover and reaches out to put a paw on her shoulder. It is such a funny yet sweet move on his part. His owner calls it the opposite of a “mom seatbelt.”

Mom holds Harry’s face to tell him she loves him and then asks if he is ready to go home. The dog just taps her shoulder in total agreement. He knows he’s a good boy, even if he was a menace earlier.

The post has around 4.5k likes, as of the time of writing, and people are obsessed with his “I’m not listening” face. One comment said this is how they make friends (by pestering). Another person mentioned those closed eyes. He has zero defense for his behavior, but he’s a Golden Retriever, so he knows he’s already forgiven, no matter what happened at daycare.
